Mediterranean Diet Health Benefits

Friday June 27, 2003
A new Harvard study has found that people who follow a Mediterranean foods based diet have significantly lower death rates from heart disease and cancer. The diet emphasizes foods like whole grains, legumes, fruits, nuts, olive oil, and vegetables; and deemphasizes meats, simple sugars, and dairy products.

To begin following the diet yourself with some cool summer recipes, make Wheat Berry Tabbouleh and Couscous Chicken Salad this weekend and keep them in your fridge for instant meals and healthy snacking.
