Of all the crockpot recipes and ideas out there, sandwiches may be the easiest and yet most overlooked. We just don't think 'sandwich' when we think 'slow cooker'. But for busy families, crockpot sandwich recipes means that as your crew straggles home from school, music lessons, and sports, they can build their own sandwiches. Just have the split and buttered buns, tortillas, pita breads, or bread ready and waiting.

If someone is getting home really late, you can put aside a portion or two of the sandwich filling in the refrigerator. All your hungry boy or girl needs to do is heat up the filling in the microwave and assemble the sandwiches.

Think about unusual breads to use for these sandwich fillings. Pita bread, cracker bread, flavored tortillas, and even heated waffles make great sandwiches. Enjoy these easy recipes and remember that you can change the flavorings and ingredients to match your own tastes and mood.
