If you don't want to make your own meatballs from scratch, you can substitute frozen precooked meatballs and add the celery leaves, Swiss cheese, and spices to the sauce. I often do this on nights when I'm just too tired to face a lot of cooking. You can also substitute your own precooked and frozen meatballs.
Serve this delicious, creamy casserole with Spinach Strawberry Salad, Two Onion Muffins, and Butter Pecan Turtle Cookies for dessert.
Alpine Meatballs Dinner
- Alpine Meatballs
Celery leaves provide a nice hint of freshness to these simple, tender meatballs. This casserole is very easy and so delicious. - Spinach Strawberry Salad
If you can't find good fresh strawberries for this beautiful salad, just omit them, or substitute raspberries or blackberries. - Two Onion Muffins
These tender muffins are very flavorful, and can be made ahead of time. They are best warm, though, so if you have made them ahead, warm them in the microwave or oven before serving. - Butter Pecan Turtle Cookies
Crunchy, sweet, full of chocolate and pecans; what more could you want in a bar cookie?
