Swiss Eggs is one of my favorite recipes. It's simple and comforting, and lets you prepare eggs for a bunch without having to stand over the stove while everybody else eats. The side dishes are great complements to this simple main dish. And best of all, everything except the eggs and the sausage and bacon can be made ahead of time.
Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake is a great dessert (plus, you get to eat leftovers on the run tomorrow morning!) that has a brown sugar streusel running through a meltingly tender cake. Make it ahead of time so it can mellow. And enjoy this cozy meal as leisurely as possible with your family.

This incredibly delicious dish is my idea of comfort food. You can assemble it ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator until baking time. - Honeydew Salad Wedges
This old-fashioned recipe is both delicious and beautiful. Your kids will be fascinated by these wedges, which hold bright red strawberries suspended in gelatin. - Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake
