Pasta, Rice, and Grains
Guide picks
The FDA recommends we base our diet on pasta, rice and grains. Their Food Pyramid specifies six to eleven servings per day. Busy Cooks love this recommendation, because these foods cook quickly, are delicious, and so versatile. Learn some wonderful recipes for using these healthy ingredients in the easiest ways.

Five Ingredient Pasta Recipes

One Pot Pasta
My article about making pasta dishes in just one pot is a good first step to learn about quick cooking. Try Skillet Spaghetti when you just don't want to cook, or Overnight Meatball Casserole if you plan far enough ahead.

Okay, so their motto is "have a rice day". This site is still really fun and has some excellent tips and recipes so you do serve rice every day. Make sure to click on the "Recipes" link in the left hand column - and try "Spinach And Rice Bake" - it's my favorite.

Wild Rice
Maybe it's because I'm from Minnesota, but I grew up loving wild rice. Did you know it's not a rice at all, but a grain from a wild grass? This wonderful site not only has basic info about the grain, but lots of great recipes too. I especially love Wild Rice Quiche.

Glorious Grains
Food Fit has a wonderful site that has some of the most complete information on grains I've ever seen. Scroll down the chart and you'll find information on nutrition, how to cook, best uses, and recipes too.
