Memorial Day is the official start of the summer cooking season in the United States. Take advantage of this long weekend and cook some wonderful meals for your friends and family.
If you haven't dusted off your grill yet, this is the weekend to do it! All over America, the scent of grilling meats and vegetables will be wafting all over cities and neighborhoods. The menus in this article include three meals cooked on the grill, to get everyone in the mood for summer and to make cooking and cleanup as easy as possible.
Summer salads are on my menus almost every day now. The recipes I have chosen will keep 3-4 days in your refrigerator - if they last that long! I think that these make ahead salads are an elegant way to solve the solution of perpetually hungry teenagers as well as families who are on different schedules.
So fly the flag, spend time with friends and family, have a picnic in the park or at the beach, and enjoy this long holiday weekend.
