Chicken Drumsticks Cacciatore

Cook Time: 7 hours,

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 15 oz. can Italian style tomato sauce
  • 4 oz. jar sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch

Preparation:

In large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Meanwhile, sprinkle drumsticks with flour. Brown drumsticks in oil for 3-4 minutes until they begin to brown. Place drumsticks in slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients except water and cornstarch and mix to blend. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours. In small bowl, combine water and cornstarch and blend well. Stir into liquid in slow cooker and cook on high 15-20 minutes longer until thickened. 4 servings
