Yield: 4 pork chops

This three-ingredient recipe to make pork chops takes just five minutes of prep. This has to be one of the easiest recipes ever, even for a slow cooker. Just plop the ingredients in, set it, and forget it. Come back about seven hours later for succulent pork chops you can serve over mashed potatoes, hot cooked rice, or polenta. As a side, accompany these pork chops with steamed green beans, easy asparagus, or a five-ingredient Spanish side salad.

You can add more ingredients to this recipe if you'd like: Chopped garlic, baby carrots, and some small potatoes would all be excellent to throw in before cooking. Spruce up the dish further by adding chopped raw onion, a pad of butter, and sprigs of thyme with the raw pork chops. It really is up to you.

If you don't feel like complicating things, however, this three-ingredient recipe is delicious as is.

Steps to Make It

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. If you wish, brown the pork chops in a nonstick skillet over medium heat for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Don't cook the chops longer than that; they should only be browned for appearance and to add some flavor.

  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook the pork chops on low heat for 6 to 8 hours. When done, the pork should register 145 F on a meat thermometer, but odds are they will be well done. The pork chops may fall apart because they are so tender.

1. Pour about 2 cups of the liquid into a medium saucepan, and add 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 1/3 cup water.

2. Bring to a boil and cook until slightly thickened.

3. Adjust seasonings as desired.
