Maple Glazed Crockpot Turkey Breast

By Linda Larsen, About.com

This turkey breast cooks in the crockpot with only five ingredients to make a sweet and savory glaze.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 5 hours,

Ingredients:

  • 4 potatoes, peeled and chopped into 1/2" pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 lb. boneless turkey breast, thawed if frozen
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. white pepper

Preparation:

Combine potatoes and onions in a 4 quart crockpot. Place turkey breast on top (only use a boneless turkey breast!). In small bowl, combine maple syrup, preserves, cinnamon, salt, and pepper and mix well. Pour over turkey. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours until vegetables are tender, turkey is thoroughly cooked and registers 180 degrees on a meat thermometer. 4 servings

If the turkey is in the 'danger zone' on top of the potatoes, then every crockpot recipe in the world would be dangerous. If you don't like onions, don't make this recipe.
