This classic cookie uses crisp rice cereal for a wonderful crunch. Yum.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 cups crisp rice cereal
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, combine sugars, butter and shortening and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla and eggs and beat until combined. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix to combine. Stir in cereal and chocolate chips. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2" apart onto parchment lined cookie sheets.Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 8-11 minutes or until cookies are light golden brown. Cool one minute on cookie sheets, then remove to a wire rack to cool. 60 cookies
