Pear and Blue Cheese Crostini

By

This simple and elegant appetizer recipe for Pear and Blue Cheese Crostini uses just five ingredients. You could also make it with apple slices.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 18 minutes

Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients:

  • 12 slices cocktail bread or 1/4" slices of french bread
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 medium ripe pear, cored and sliced thinly
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Preparation:

Cut each slice of bread in half diagonally to form triangles. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 4-7 minutes until lightly browned, turning once.

Spread bread with mayonnaise and top with pear slices, then sprinkle with blue cheese and pecans. Broil 6" from heat for 3-4 minutes until cheese melts and begins to brown. Serve immediately.

You can also grill this recipe. Grill the bread for a minute or two on each side, spread with mayonnaise, top with the pears, blue cheese, and pecans, then grill, covered, for another minute until hot.
