I've made these bars over and over again and they are always amazing!! I prefer to use white or yellow cake mix. I've changed it up by using different chocolate chips (white, dark, semisweet, milk)...and I've even used butterscotch chips along with two other chocolate chip flavors. The combination of two chocolate chips and the butterscotch happens to be my favorite. As to the review where the crust went ""everywhere"" when spreading the melted mixture...I usually just pour it over the ""crust"" as evenly as I can and maybe gently spread a little bit...but it does spread on its own when baking, so it doesn't matter if every bit of the crust is covered prior to baking anyway!! I highly recommend these bars!
