Ingredients:
- 4 (6-ounce) filet mignon steaks
- salt and pepper
- 4 teaspoons butter
Preparation:
To broil, preheat broiler. Salt and pepper steaks and place on broiler rack. Broil 6" from heat for 10 minutes, then turn steaks. Broil for 8-13 minutes longer or until desired doneness, at least 140 degrees F for medium. Remove from rack, place on clean plate, top with butter, cover, and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
You can also saute these steaks. Preheat a heavy pan over high heat. Salt and pepper the steaks. Place in pan over medium-high heat. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until steaks release. Turn and cook 10-13 minutes longer until desired doneness. Top with butter, cover with foil and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
