You can broil, saute, or grill this fabulous Filet Mignon steak. You'll notice that this steak is smaller than most; that's because there's absolutely no waste. It's tender, juicy, and melts in your mouth.

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 22 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 4 (6-ounce) filet mignon steaks
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 teaspoons butter

Preparation:

To grill, prepare and preheat grill. Salt and pepper steaks. Place over medium coals and cover grill. Grill for 10 minutes, then turn when the steaks release from the grill. Grill, uncovered, for 8-12 minutes longer or until the steaks are at least 140 degrees F in the center. Remove from grill, place on clean plate, top with butter, cover, and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

To broil, preheat broiler. Salt and pepper steaks and place on broiler rack. Broil 6" from heat for 10 minutes, then turn steaks. Broil for 8-13 minutes longer or until desired doneness, at least 140 degrees F for medium. Remove from rack, place on clean plate, top with butter, cover, and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

You can also saute these steaks. Preheat a heavy pan over high heat. Salt and pepper the steaks. Place in pan over medium-high heat. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until steaks release. Turn and cook 10-13 minutes longer until desired doneness. Top with butter, cover with foil and let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
