Grilled Cheese Bread

Three kinds of cheese melted onto crusty french bread and grilled until toasty makes a fabulous accompaniment to any summer meal.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 4 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices French or Italian bread
  • olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Preparation:

Make sure bread is cut at least 1/2" thick. Prepare and heat grill. Brush both sides of bread with olive oil. Combine remaining ingredients in medium bowl and top bread with this cheese mixture. Place on grill, cover grill, and cook over medium coals for 3-5 minutes until bread is toasted and cheese is melted. 8 servings
