By Linda Larsen, About.com

Use your favorite combination of dried herbs in this easy recipe that cooks crisp breadsticks on the grill.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1-1/4 cups butter, melted (NO substitute)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 teaspoon dried tarragon leaves
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Preparation:

Prepare and preheat grill. Cut bread into three equal portions, crosswise. Cut each portion into six breadsticks about 8" long and 1-1/2" in diameter. Combine melted butter, herbs, and garlic salt in shallow bowl. Dip breadsticks into the butter mixture, turning to coat all sides.

Place coated breadsticks on a grill 4-6" from medium coals. Grill for 7-10 minutes, turning frequently, until breadsticks are light golden brown. You can also cook these under the broiler until toasted, turning frequently.
