Meringue Topped Brownies


Meringue Topped Brownies is a quick and easy recipe that adds a special touch to a box of brownie mix.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Yield: Makes 24 brownies


  • 1 (19-ounce) package brownie fudge mix
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 (12-ounce) package milk chocolate chips
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • pinch salt


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13" x 9" baking pan with nonstick cooking spray containing flour and set aside.

In large bowl, combine brownie mix with oil, water, egg, and egg yolks; beat until combined and spread in prepared pan. Top with the chocolate chips.

In medium bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar and beat well, then add the brown sugar and pinch of salt and beat until stiff. Spoon over the chocolate chips.

Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the meringue is set and light brown. Let cool on wire rack, then cut into bars.
