Peanut Butter Brownies


Peanut Butter Brownies is a quick and easy bar cookie recipe. If you want a pure peanut butter experience, just omit the chocolate chips and the frosting. But why would you do that?

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Yield: Makes 16 brownies


  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9" x 9" pan with nonstick baking spray containing flour; set aside.

In large bowl, combine peanut butter, butter, brown sugar, and sugar and beat well. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth. Stir in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt just until mixed. Stir in mini chocolate chips.

Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 22-30 minutes or until brownies are set and light golden brown. Let cool on wire rack for 15 minutes, then combine 1-1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips and 1/3 cup peanut butter in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high power for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving for 1 minute intervals until chocolate is melted; stir until smooth. Pour over brownies.

Cool brownies completely and cut into squares.
