Five Easy Ways to Turn Brownies into Dessert

By

Take a pan of brownies, either made from scratch or a mix or ones you bought from a bakery, and turn them into rich and decadent desserts with these ideas and recipes. You can use any of my brownie recipes, or make one from a mix. Sometimes you can buy a pan of unfrosted brownies from a bakery for the fastest desserts. However you get the brownie base ready to go, these five ways to turn brownies into dessert are simply spectacular. Be sure the brownies are completely cool before you start any of these recipes.

Frosting brownies with unusual, double, or even triple frostings is one of the easiest ways to turn them into a special dessert. Mix and match frostings to create your own masterpiece.

2. Freeze It!

Brownies make a fabulous base for frozen desserts. Whether you layer ice cream, puddings, mousse, or custard on brownies for a frozen dessert, they will all be delicious and decadent.

3. Top It!

Toppings for brownies can vary from a rich thick coating of fudge to a mousse, pudding, crunchy nut mixture, candy mixture, or meringue. Use your imagination and think about dessert toppings that you could use to turn brownies into a dessert.

4. Layer It!

A pan of brownies is a great beginning for a layered dessert, whether it's a trifle, a cake-like treat, or parfaits. Or add a layer of caramel or melted candy between the brownie and frosting.

5. Skewer It!

Cut brownies into squares and skewer with everything from marshmallows to fruit to pound cake or angel food cake for a delicious dessert that's as fun to make as it is to eat. Serve with chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping, or drizzle with melted chocolate to finish.
