Wild Rice Gourmet Burgers are so easy and so good. I was looking through some of my meatloaf recipes to get ideas for new burgers, and wild rice jumped out at me. The burgers are tender, juicy, nutty, and flavorful. The luscious potato salad in the picture is My Mother's Potato Salad.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 12 minutes

Total Time: 17 minutes

Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound 85% lean ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked and drained wild rice
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Havarti cheese
  • lettuce leaves, mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, sliced avocados
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Preparation:

Prepare and preheat grill. In medium bowl, combine beef, wild rice, honey mustard, and salt and pepper to taste; mix thoroughly but gently.

Form into four patties and place on plate. Press a dimple into the center of each burger. Grill burgers over medium coals for 5-8 minutes per side until a meat thermometer registers 165 degrees F. Remove burgers from grill, put on clean place, top with cheese, and cover to let cheese melt.

Assemble Wild Rice Gourmet Burgers with lettuce, mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, avocado, and burgers on toasted buns.

My family just loves these burgers. The wild rice stretches the ground beef and adds a wonderful flavor and the best texture. We're making them for this weekend's cookout!
