White Chocolate Cups

By Linda Larsen, About.com

Use any flavor of candy coating to make these simple little dessert cups. And fill them with anything you like - from pudding to mixed fruits to ice cream and sorbet.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 lb. vanilla candy coating
  • 2 tsp. solid shortening
  • 10 foil muffin cups

Preparation:

Invert the baking cups on a cookie sheet and place in freezer while melting candy coating. Chop the candy coating into small pieces.

In small heavy saucepan, combine chopped candy coating with shortening. Melt over low heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let stand for 10 minutes. Pour into heavy duty small plastic bag.

Remove baking cups from freezer. Snip a small corner off the plastic bag. Drizzle coating from the small hole over the outside of the foil cups, going back and forth to form an almost solid surface. Return to freezer for 30 miutes. Then carefully peel the foil cups away from the chocolate. [p[]Fill each cup with ice cream (dark chocolate would be very nice), sorbet, fresh fruit, and drizzle with chocolate or caramel sauce. Makes 10 cups
