Cookie Cutter Fudge

By , About.com Guide

I just love this recipe. Pour the finished fudge into different cookie cutters and wrap in cellophane for a fabulous Christmas gift. You can also use any fudge recipe from the list below!

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups sugar
  • 14 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 lb. butter (no substitutes)
  • 18 oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate cips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts, if desired

Preparation:

In a heavy saucepan, combine the sugar and milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid scorching. It's very important to stir this mixture constantly! If you see some brown bits begin to float in the mixture, that's okay - just stir harder. Boil for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.

Meanwhile, place butter and chocolate chips in a large bowl. Remove sugar mixture from heat and our over the butter and chocolate chips. Stir until well mixed, then stir in vanilla and nuts.

Pour into buttered large cookie cutters that have been placed on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Let stand until set. Decorate fudge in the cookie cutters as desired, and wrap in cellophane to give as gifts.
