Ham for Two or Just a Few

If you've avoided serving ham for holiday dinners because there are just two or three of you, try a ham steak! This cut will still allow some leftovers (see ham recipes) but you won't be drowning in them. The cucumbers are an easy make-ahead recipe, and the Chocolate Oatmeal Cake is a personal favorite. Enjoy.

Ham for Two or Just a Few Christmas Menu

  • Peach Glazed Ham Steak
If you can't find fresh peaches this time of year, substitute frozen slices, or just omit them.
  • Scandinavian Cucumbers
This simple recipe is one of my favorites. Serve it over mixed salad greens for the perfect side salad.
  • Sugar Snap Peas with Red Pepper
Not only are the colors of this easy recipe perfect, but the taste is fabulous. The flavors are perfect with the sweet and salty ham.
  • Grilled Cheese Bread
This creamy, crunchy, simple bread recipe is the perfect complement to the tender ham and crisp cucumber salad.
  • Chocolate Oatmeal Cake
I developed this recipe when I was looking for a German Chocolate cake that had more chocolate. It's superb.
