Two additions to the classic dip make this easy recipe a lot more special.

Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (16-ounce) container sour cream
- 1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
Preparation:
In large saucepan, combine butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add onions; cook and stir until onions start to brown, about 10 minutes. Lower heat to low and cook and stir for another 10 minutes until browned. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.In large bowl, combine sour cream with cream cheese; beat until smooth. Stir in onion dip mix and the cooled onions. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving with chips.
