Baked Tex Mex Cheese

By Linda Larsen, About.com

This three ingredient appetizer can be made mild or spicy depending on the salsa you use - and the cheese! It's super easy and so good.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese or Pepper Jack cheese, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons canned, drained chopped green chiles or jalapeno peppers
  • 1-1/2 cups thick and chunky salsa

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place cheese in a 10” pie plate. Sprinkle with chiles. Spoon salsa around and over cheese.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture begins to bubble. Serve with tortilla chips, red and green pepper strips, toasted baguette slices, taco chips, and breadsticks.
