For recipes ready in 10 minutes or less, you need to use convenience foods, or use as few ingredients as possible. These recipes are a little of both! Whether you're combining a few outstandingly fresh ingredients for a simple pasta or cooking fish with a tangy glaze, these recipes will come to the rescue when you literally do not have much time in the kitchen.

In order to prepare food quickly, have your personal mise en place in good shape, read through the recipe before you begin, then enjoy the process. If you don't prepare these recipes in exactly 10 minutes, that's okay. You're still feeding your family very well in a very small amount of time.

10 Minute Recipes

  • Grilled Salmon Sandwiches
Any hot grilled sandwich can be prepared in a few minutes when you have some sandwich fillings prepared in the fridge. Each of these recipes will last for a few days, so make a couple and you'll be eating in about 600 seconds!
  • Citrus Sole
Once you've removed the zest and juiced the orange, this easy recipe is ready to cook. I love the combination of orange and lemon with tender and moist fish fillets.
  • Pesto Pasta with Peas
This super simple recipe is made with whole grain pasta, pesto, cream, peas, and cheese. Once the water is boiling, you can eat in about 8 minutes.
  • Tortellini with Peas and Parmesan
There really is no preparation at all in this recipe; just take the tortellini and peas out of the freezer and the butter and cheese out of the fridge. This recipe is satisfying and super quick.
  • Pesto Pasta
I think that refrigerated basil pesto is one of the best buys in the supermarket. It's fresh and delicious and perfect for everything from a sandwich spread to a simple pasta sauce. With some fresh tomatoes, this recipe is a winner.
  • Brown Bread Fruit Sandwiches
Have you ever tried canned brown bread? This moist bread is usually served with baked beans in a classic New England dinner, but I love it sliced and made into these sandwiches with a sweet filling.
  • Glazed Ham Slice
The George Foreman Grill, or dual contact indoor grill, cuts grilling time in half because both sides cook at the same time. This three ingredient recipe is fabulous.
  • Gazpacho Salad
Canned black beans and a couple of chopped veggies combine for a delicious and colorful salad that's very good for you too.
  • Crispy Grilled Chicken
Your trusty indoor grill comes to the rescue again with this wonderful recipe. The coating takes about 3 minutes to assemble because you start with packaged dry bread crumbs and dried herbs.
  • Glazed Salmon Fillets
This simple four ingredient recipe is so delicious. I used seafood cocktail sauce as the base for the glaze because I think it works well with all seafood - not just shrimp!
  • Chicken Tomato Wrap Sandwiches
Once the tomato and green pepper are chopped, just fold this sandwich filling into a tortilla and you can be on your way with lunch in hand.
  • Ten Minute Boursin Soup
Starting with purchased preshredded carrots cuts the preparation time to almost nothing in this quick and easy, well-flavored soup.
  • Pasta with Garlic and Cheese
This quick and easy five ingredient recipe pairs pasta with garlic, cheese, and fresh herbs.
  • Curried Chicken Sandwich Spread
Canned pineapple tidbits add sweet flavor to this simple sandwich spread; canned chicken is the other secret ingredient. You can grill it between two slices of whole wheat bread for a hot sandwich if you'd like.
  • Hot Seafood Sandwiches
The deli is a great source for salads that can be made into sandwiches. This delicious sandwich is one of my favorites.
  • Pantry Gazpacho
Canned tomatoes, corn, and shrimp combine with vegetable juice to make a wonderful and easy cold soup that's really good served with some hot and crisp breadsticks.
