Fish Fillets with Mushroom Sauce

Fish Fillets with Mushroom Sauce is a simple recipe that is ready in minutes, perfect for an easy and quick family meal.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1-1/2 cups sliced cremini mushrooms
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 pound fish fillets

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 2 quart glass baking dish and set aside.

Melt butter in medium saucepan; add mushrooms, onion, and garlic and cook until liquid evaporates, about 10 minutes. Add flour, thyme, salt, and pepper and cook and stir for 2 minutes. Add milk and sour cream; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat and add lemon juice and peel.

Place fillets in prepared baking dish and cover with sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until fish is cooked and flakes when tested with fork. 4 servings
