Chicken Caesar Salad

Linda Larsen
Main dish salads are such a nice choice for summer dining and entertaining. And when the ingredient list uses just five products, you'll be in and out of the kitchen in no time!

As always, when you're using just a few ingredients, they need to be the best possible quality you can find. And since you're only using a few ingedients, you can afford to splurge and buy the best.

You can, of course, add as many ingredients you like to these easy and delicious recipes. Just think of flavor, texture, and color combinations and add, for instance, mushrooms and red bell peppers to the Rice and Shrimp Salad, or add cherry tomatoes and sliced yellow summer squash to the Spinach, Chicken, and Bacon Salad. Use your imagination!

Serve these easy salads with crackers, bakery breads, or quick breads and bread treatments you make yourself. If you're grilling the meat or vegetables for the salad, use the grill to make grilled breads as well. Enjoy these recipes this week!

Five Ingredient Main Dish Salad Recipes

  • Caesar Chicken Salad
This simple salad has it all; tender chicken, crisp greens, savory dressing, and crunchy croutons. Yum.
  • Ham Couscous Salad
Ham combines with tender and nutty couscous in this easy salad dressed with a smooth mustard salad dressing.
  • Pasta Cabbage Salad
Red cabbage is an ideal salad ingredient during the summer; it's fresh and crisp and keeps its texture even when enveloped in creamy salad dressing.
  • Lemony Tuna and Orzo Salad
Use the new flavored tuna that comes in pouches for this flavorful and light salad.
  • Shrimp Vegetable Salad
I love honey mustard salad dressing in this easy salad, but you can use your favorite. Buttermilk ranch or even Caesar salad dressing would be delicious.
  • Spinach Chicken and Bacon Salad
This wonderful salad has such hearty flavors and the perfect texture. I love the crisp bacon with the soft and buttery spinach leaves.
  • Antipasto Salad
Salami is tossed with Muenster cheese and mixed salad greens with a spicy garlic dressing in this easy main dish salad recipe.
  • Smoked Turkey and Asparagus Salad
Smoked turkey has a wonderful tender texture and spicy flavor; combined with asparagus and strawberries, it makes a fabulous salad.
  • Steak and Antipasto Salad
Serve this wonderful salad, with its tender grilled steak, with Grilled Herb Breadsticks for a nice meal perfect for entertaining.
  • Asian Chicken Salad
Crisp chow mein noodles are a wonderful addition to this simple salad that starts with deli coleslaw, and ginger adds a nice snap.
  • Crab and Pasta Salad
The flavors of the Caribbean permeate this cool and easy salad made with crab, pasta, and mangoes. Yum.
  • Balsamic Chicken Salad
Take some time to browse through the salad dressing section of your supermarket; you won't believe the selection! Balsamic vinegar adds a rich depth of flavor to this easy main dish salad recipe.
  • Shrimp Tomato Rice Salad
Add some chopped bell peppers to this simple and flavorful salad for even more crunch and flavor.
  • Tex Mex Chicken Salad
You could serve this spicy salad in tostada shells with some lettuce if you'd like, but it's also perfect just by itself.
  • Gyro Salad
Gyros are actually Greek lamb sandwiches served in pita breads with a spicy yogurt dressing. This variation uses deli roast beef with Greek ingredients.
