This dinner is cooked almost entirely on the grill. The dessert and side dish salads are made ahead of time and are a cooling complement to the hot and smoky food. Just dish up the salad, and for the dessert, all you have to do is let it stand at room temperature for a few minutes, slice, and dig in.

Use your favorite steak for this easy menu. And offer lots of potato chips too - to me, they're an essential part of the holiday.

  • Pork and Peach Skewers
    These luscious skewers are one of my favorite grilled summer appetizers. The combination of smoky, juicy pork and sweet and slightly tart peaches is just perfect.
  • Grilled Steak with Herb Butter
    This is my go-to recipe for summer steak grilling. The herb butter is delicious: the perfect thing to melt on top of the smoky and tender steak.
  • Roasted Red, White, and Blue Potatoes
    If you can't find blue potatoes, go ahead and make this recipe anyway! It will be just as delicious with just red and white spuds.
  • Fresh Corn Salad
    This fabulous salad is the flavor of summer. Make it with fresh corn on the cob if you have time, because the taste is incomparable. But if you're pressed for time, frozen thawed (not cooked) corn is really good too.
  • Garlic Bread
    Steak and garlic bread go together like, well, peanut butter and jelly! But they're so much better.
  • Sherbet Fruit Pie
    This easy pie is beautiful and fun to make. And it's fun to eat too! If you're serving more than six people, make two pies!
