Red White and Blue Fourth of July Menu

Red White and Blue Trifle

Linda Larsen
If you want to make something really patriotic and fun for this most American of holidays, try this menu. Or just make a couple of these great patriotic recipes and add them to your traditional summer holiday spread.

Be sure to decorate with red, white and blue too. I like a red tablecloth, white plates, and napkins decorated with blue and white stars. Red and white flowers in a blue vase and little flags at each place setting add the perfect finishing touch.

Have a great Fourth!

Red, White and Blue Fourth of July Menu

  • Red, White and Blue Appetizer Spread
This creamy blue cheese and walnut mixture is spread on apples for a delicious starter.
  • Patriotic Fruit Salad
Okay, jicama isn't technically a fruit, but its crunchy sweetness does blend well with the watermelon and blueberries. This refreshing salad is easy and pretty.
  • Red, White and Blue Potato Salad
If blue potatoes just aren't to be found in your area, make this recipe anyway! It's delicious.
  • Red, White and Blue Slaw
There aren't many blue foods (aside from blueberries), but I guess red cabbage can substitute in a pinch. This easy coleslaw is good and fun.
  • Ham Sandwiches with Blueberry Chutney
Blueberry chutney is fun to make and a delicious sandwich spread, as well as a great addition to an appetizer buffet. These sandwiches are perfect for a picnic.
  • American Flag Cookie Tart
It's hard to find a dessert more colorful or patriotic than this one! Have your kids help decorate the tart.
  • Red White and Blue Trifle
And I love this easy trifle, especially with the sweet cherries and tart blueberries.
