Now this is an excellent recipe for a child's birthday party! Layer ice cream and toppings in flat-bottomed ice cream cones and freeze. Then when you're ready to eat, just eat!

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips per 12 ice cream cones
  • Ice cream
  • Ice cream sauces
  • Flat-bottomed ice cream cones
  • Toppings like chopped nuts, candies, marshmallows, sprinkles

Preparation:

Melt chocolate chips in microwave on 50% power for 1-3 minutes or until smooth, stirring twice during cooking time. Using a pastry brush, brush a thin layer of chocolate inside each cone. This will keep the cone crisp when you add the ice cream. Let stand to harden.

Alternatively, you could pour some ice cream chocolate topping that hardens into a shell into the cones, twirling the cones so the topping coats evenly. Drizzle some over the outside too to give your guests a clue what's inside. Then chill them before filling with the ice cream and toppings.

Layer ice cream, sauce, and toppings in the coated cones. Freeze until solid.
