This elegant and moist turkey sausage meatloaf is delicious and easy, and it has more flavor than traditional turkey meatloaves because it combines ground turkey with turkey sausage. You can make this recipe mild or spicy, depending on the type of turkey sausage you buy.​

  • 1 cup carrots (shredded)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 pound turkey sausage
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.

  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook the carrots, onion, and garlic in the butter until tender.

  4. Place this mixture in a large bowl and add the ​breadcrumbs, egg, milk, parsley, and thyme until well blended. Let stand 10 minutes.

  5. Add the ground turkey and turkey sausage to the mixture in the bowl and mix gently with your hands just until combined.

  6. Shape into a large loaf about 2 1/2-inches high. Place in prepared pan.

  7. Mix the ketchup, brown sugar, honey mustard, and pepper in a small bowl and spread over the meatloaf.

  8. Bake the meatloaf for 45 to 60 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and meat thermometer registers 165 F.

  9. Cover the meatloaf with foil and let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
