If you're looking for a special holiday dinner menu, Steak with all the Trimmings is for you. Pair a juicy steak with a fresh vegetable side dish, creamy crockpot potatoes, homemade rolls, a fruit salad, and a spectacular cake for dessert.

You can mix and match recipes as you'd like. I picked these recipes, but you can look for more side dish recipes, potato recipes, bread recipes, and cake recipes in my Recipe Box. The dessert, fruit salad, rolls, and potatoes are made ahead of time. All you have to do is cook the steak and the vegetables and dinner's ready. I like to have the veggies cut up and waiting in a plastic bag so I don't have to fuss with preparation at the last minute.

Set the table with your best china, or choose festive plates and crystal to suit the season. I always have fresh flowers on the table when I entertain, paired with candles in mercury glass candlesticks. Offer an appetizer before dinner to make your guests feel welcome, make sure a fire is burning in the fireplace, and put some nice music (Mannheim Steamroller Christmas anyone?) on the iPod.

Enjoy this delicious dinner with family and friends.

  • Mini Cranberry Filo Shells
These cute little appetizers look so festive and dainty. But they pack a punch of flavor! You can omit the turkey if you'd like for a simpler recipe.
  • Steak House Steak
This method of cooking steaks works whether you have a grill pan or not. I sometimes broil the steak, then top it with butter and finish it in the oven. The steaks turn out perfectly cooked and so tender and juicy.
  • Broccoli Red Pepper Saute
Lots of fresh vegetables are superb when they're sauteed together in butter. This simple recipe is colorful, beautiful, delicious and healthy.
  • Crockpot Cheesy Potatoes
This rich and delicious side dish is so easy to make. I sometimes use other flavors of soup, especially cream of potato soup. I sometimes add some dried herbs such as thyme or marjoram.
  • Honey Rolls
This simple batter bread recipe is the perfect choice if you're not a skilled baker. And if you are a skilled baker, you'll love how easy it is! The honey glaze on the rolls adds beautiful color and wonderful flavor.
  • Fruit Salad with Poppyseed Dressing
Purchase the fruits that look the most beautiful and succulent for this fresh and easy make ahead recipe.
  • Raspberry Walnut Torte
This torte looks like something from a fancy bakeshop. Don't be intimidated - you can do it! Make the cake one day, and assemble the cake the next so it's not so time-consuming. And then sit back and bask in the praise. Of course, you get a piece all to yourself when the guests have gone home!
