Down South Sloppy Joes are an easy and filling recipe made with gumbo soup and chili sauce for deep flavor and spice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2/3 cup chili sauce
  • 10 oz. can condensed chicken gumbo soup
  • 3 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp. dried Cajun seasoning
  • 12 kaiser buns, split and toasted

Preparation:

In heavy skillet, cook ground beef until crumbly and brown. Drain well and place in 4-5 quart slow cooker. Add all remaining ingredients except for hamburger buns; stir well. Cover and cook on Low for 4-7 hours until vegetables are tender and mixture is blended. Serve on toasted kaiser buns. 12 sandwiches
