Ingredients:
- 1 leek, rinsed and chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 6 plum tomatoes, quartered
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp. fennel seed
- 1 cup white wine or apple juice
- 3 cups clam juice or chicken broth
- 1 lb. halibut steak
- 2 cups uncooked medium shrimp
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation:
Half an hour before serving, cut halibut into 1" pieces and add to slow cooker along with remaining ingredients. Cover crockpot, increase heat to high, and cook 15-20 minutes longer until fish flakes easily when tested with fork. 4-6 servings
