This simple chili recipe has a lot of flavor because the onions and ground beef are cooked together for the base of the soup.

Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 (14 oz.) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup water
- 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 2 (15 oz.) cans red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Preparation:
In heavy stockpot, saute ground beef with onion and garlic until beef is no longer pink and vegetables are tender. Sprinkle flour over mixture; cook and stir for 2-3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until flavors are blended. Serves 6
