Individual Layered Salads

By , About.com Guide

With this basic recipe, you can make tons of different salads; just vary the topping, the types of lettuces, the meat and cheese, and the veggies.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen baby peas, unthawed
  • 1 cup cubed cheese
  • 1 cup cubed cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 3-4 cups torn lettuce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or creamy salad dressing

Preparation:

You can make 2, 3, or 4 salads using these proportions, depending on the size salad you want to make and the size of the diner! Layer the ingredients in a small Tupperware or resealable container, in the order given. You could add more ingredients, like cashew nuts, green bell pepper slivers, cubed cucumber, blanched green beans, Parmesan cheese, cubed ham, or cooked pork tenderloin. Pack a fork, and let your diner mix the salad just before eating.
