Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch. It's perfect for Mother's Day because Mom gets to sleep in and eat a leisurely meal. It also gives you more time to prepare the food (and clean up the kitchen!).

Set the table using a pretty tablecloth and matching napkins. For a centerpiece, put out a vase filled with Mom's favorite flowers, or pile pretty fruit in a glass or silver bowl. Use the good china (handle carefully!) and crystal. And don't worry if everything isn't perfect. After all, what Mom wants most for her special day is time with you.

Mother's Day Make Ahead Brunch Menu

  • Citrus Cooler
This simple three ingredient recipe can be made with lemons, limes, oranges, or grapefruit; the choice is yours.
  • Mock Cheese Souffle
This easy make-ahead recipe tastes and looks like a souffle but it's much easier to make. Assemble it the night before Mother's Day and be sure to tell Mom not to peek in the fridge.
  • Blueberry French Toast Bake
This beautiful bake can be served in addition to or instead of the souffle. You could make this easy recipe with raspberries instead of blueberries if you'd like.
  • Apple Glazed Sausage and Bacon
I love this recipe because it has so much flavor. Apple juice and apple jelly glaze three different kinds of breakfast meats, so everybody gets exactly what they want!
  • Overnight Fruit Salad
Fruits really start to come into their own in May. And this recipe is a wonderful way to treat fruit. Use Mom's favorite melons and be sure to add the strawberries and raspberries just before serving.
  • Puff Pastry Hearts
Sugar, cinnamon, butter, and puff pastry plus a little sleight of hand are all you need to make these cute little sweet rolls. Yum.
