Steak with Mixed Fruit Salsa

Linda Larsen
Make Mom a steak for Mother's Day! It's a wonderful way to treat her and the whole family. A steak dinner in a restaurant is very expensive. And while steak at the supermarket isn't cheap, it's a very good value compared to eating out.

You can use a premade salsa instead of the homemade version if you'd like, but the homemade salsa is very easy to make and fresh too. Start this meal off with an appetizer. A terrine is just a fancy name for an appetizer spread. Every steak should be served with garlic bread, in my opinion, so this menu includes that recipe too. And an oatmeal cake made with chocolate and topped with an easy broiled frosting completes this delicious menu.

Mother's Day Fancy Steak Dinner

  • Blue Cheese Terrine with Crudites
Lots of cream cheese and blue cheese make this spread rich, and apples and walnuts add flavor and crunch. Serve with bread sticks and toasted French bread slices.
  • Steak with Mixed Fruit Salsa
This beautiful recipe is perfect for a celebration. Make sure the steaks are hot and the salsa cold for a fabulous contrast.
  • Sauteed Baby Carrots
This is a super easy way to prepare baby carrots. They turn out so sweet and tender.
  • Pear and Greens Salad
I love this salad; it's sweet, slightly spicy, and delicious with the fresh pear, toasted walnuts, and tender greens.
  • Toasted Garlic Bread
    'Nuff said.
  • Chocolate Oatmeal Cake
Make this gorgeous cake the day before, cover it tightly, and let it stand, well hidden from Mom, at room temperature. Then just slice and serve. Yum.
