For this delicious and festive menu to celebrate New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, all you need is a (relatively) clean house, some chilled champagne and sparkling cider, and a nearby grocery store. Today's supermarkets contain everything you need to put together a fabulous spread with hardly any kitchen work at all. You just need to be a bit organized, and ready for a good party. Make your shopping list and let's get going!

While other members of your family vacuum and clean up a bit, you head to the store. You're going to buy:

  • frozen cheese tortellini
  • frozen mini filo shells
  • ciabatta bread
  • crackers

  • fruit dip
  • prepared pesto
  • mascarpone cheese
  • Italian salad dressing
  • sliced deli meats and cheeses
  • selection of deli salads
  • selection of large deli cheeses
  • dried fruit like apricots and dates
  • frosted chocolate cupcakes
  • chocolate pudding
  • chocolate covered caramels or peanut butter candies
  • frozen whipped topping
  • napkins
  • ice
  • drinks and beverages

You should have mustard, Parmesan, mayonnaise, milk, butter, salt, and pepper on hand. When you get home, unpack all the food. Now go to the next page to learn, step by step, how to put your party menu together.
