This delicious recipe is rich and full of flavor. Serve it to guests along with Garlic Bread.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes

Yield: 6 servings

  • 1-1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausages
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • 14.5-oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup water or dry red wine
  • 3 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1 tsp. dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 16 oz. fettuccine pasta
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

In a large skillet, place sausages and water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Drain sausages and continue cooking over medium heat until sausages begin to brown.

Remove sausages from skillet and slice into 1-1/2" pieces. Return to skillet along with onion, garlic, and peppers. Cook and stir until vegetables are crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, tomatoes, basil, and thyme. Simmer 15-20 minutes until sausages are thoroughly cooked.

Meanwhile, cook fettuccine according to package directions and drain well. Serve sauce over fettuccine; top with Parmesan cheese.

Fettuccine with Sausage Sauce, Guest Rachel

While the name Fettuccine with Sausage Sauce doesn't sound like something spectacular, the taste speaks for itself. This recipe was extremely easy and a real hit for dinner.
