Use a tart apple in this easy recipe; Granny Smith or Macintosh would work well.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 (3/4" thick) boneless pork chops
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place pork chops in baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper. (Don't peel and chop apple until pork chops have been in the oven for 25 minutes.) Cover dish and bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.
Uncover dish and place chopped apple on top of each chop. Dot with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar. Return to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until pork chops are glazed and thoroughly cooked. Serves 4
