Apple Pork Chops

User Rating 4.5 Star Rating (6 Reviews)

Use a tart apple in this easy recipe; Granny Smith or Macintosh would work well.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 55 minutes

Yield: Serves 4

  • 4 (3/4" thick) boneless pork chops
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 apple, peeled and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place pork chops in baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper. (Don't peel and chop apple until pork chops have been in the oven for 25 minutes.) Cover dish and bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes.

Uncover dish and place chopped apple on top of each chop. Dot with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar. Return to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until pork chops are glazed and thoroughly cooked.

Easy and delicious, Guest BTaylor1996

I am notorious for overcooking my porkchops into inedible bricks. I was looking for something quick, easy and foolproof. I read the reviews and made the recipe with the addition of a pinch of cinnamon on the apples. I also added a small amount of Apple cider vinegar to cut the sweetness a bit, as I am not overly fond of sweet meat dishes. When it was done, I then made a gravy with the pan drippings and some leftover chicken stock I had on hand. It was tangy and perfect with the apples and pork chops.
