Crockpot Italian Pork Chops

These cheesy pork chops are so simple to make because they only have five ingredients.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 6 hours

Total Time: 6 hours, 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 6 (1" thick) boneless pork loin chops
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chunky pasta sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation:

Trim any excess fat from pork chops and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook chops in olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat until browned, about five minutes, turning once during cooking. Place in 3-4 quart slow cooker. Add onions and garlic to drippings; cook 5 minutes, then add to slow cooker.

Top with pasta sauce. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 7-9 hours until pork is tender and thoroughly cooked. Remove pork from slow cooker and stir in 12 ounces cooked and drained fettuccine. Place fettuccine on serving platter; top with chops, then with cheese just before serving. 6 servings

Even my picky older mother loved this, Guest Tabasco0697

I cut the recipe down to 2 pork chops but made the sauce to recommended amounts. I had sauce left over and put it in the freezer for when I want to make a quick meal with meat sauce for spaghetti. So I get two meals for one. This was so easy to make and it was so good. I do not like pork chops in any fashion. Yet I cleaned my plate. And my 78 yr old mother loved this and asked when we were having it again. She hardly ever likes something with a tomato based sauce. I was stunned.
