Sweet and Sour Crockpot Ribs

This recipe has so much rich flavor. You can make extra batches of the barbecue sauce and store it in the freezer.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 11 hours

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 lbs. meaty pork spareribs, cut in 2-3 rib sections

Preparation:

Mix brown sugar and flour in a saucepan. Add water, then vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, ginger, and garlic powder. Cook and stir over medium heat until boiling and thickened.

Layer ribs in 4-6 quart crockpot, spooning sauce over each layer. Cover and cook on Low for 10-12 hours or on High for 5-6 hours until ribs are very tender. 8-10 servings
