Baked Spaghetti and Meatballs is a super easy casserole recipe sure to be a hit with the kids.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Total Time: 50 minutes

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (16-ounce) package frozen precooked meatballs
  • 1 (26-ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 pound spaghetti pasta
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook spaghetti pasta until almost al dente; drain and rinse with hot water and set aside.

Meanwhile, heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir for 3 minutes. Add frozen meatballs; cook and stir for 3 minutes. Add spaghetti sauce and stir.

Pour water into spaghetti sauce jar; close jar, and shake vigorously. Pour this mixture into skillet and bring to a simmer. Simmer 4 minutes.

Stir in spaghetti pasta. Pour into 3-quart casserole dish and top with cheese. Bake for 25-35 minutes until casserole is bubbly.

Good Today AND Tomorrow, Guest DonB

This is a good recipe and makes enough for 5 or 6 big servings. The first time I tried it, it was a bit dry......so I am going to try two jars of Spaghetti sauce this time. Also will add a can of sliced mushrooms, and mozzarella grated cheese to the top.
