Find the best crockpot, or crockpots, for your family with these recommendations. Since these handy appliances are so inexpensive, buy two or more. No one crockpot can handle all your needs!

Hamilton BeachWith the newer hotter cooking crockpots burning and overcooking lots of food, this slow cooker provides a solution. The appliance has a built-in thermometer, or temperature probe, that you can program to stop cooking at a selected temperature. The crockpot automatically turns to the 'keep warm' setting. I also like the oval shape, which accomodates larger cuts of meat, and large size, which will feed a family nicely.
This crockpot is versatile and so easy to use. You do have to watch the cooking time, as it cooks at hotter temperatures, but this is a good basic model.
This small crockpot is a great choice for smaller families. It's also perfect for party appetizer dips with its keep-warm feature. And of course it has a removable, dishwasher-safe, stoneware liner.
This wonderful slow cooker has three interchangeable, removable liners: one 2-quart, one 4-quart, and one 6-quart. So you can cook any amount of food, depending on the size of the crowd you're feeding, with the same appliance. I love this crockpot.
And this is the classic crockpot size for most families. I have one of these crockpots, although mine is about 15 years old, and it's dependable and reliable. The newer ones cook hotter, though, so watch cooking times carefully.
