By Linda Larsen, About.com

Your kids will love this recipe! It's very fun to dip the tender waffle sticks into honey, syrup, powdered sugar, or jam.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 11 oz. can refrigerated soft breadstick dough OR refrigerated crescent dough
  • OR cornbread sticks

Preparation:

Heat a waffle iron to medium temperature and lightly grease with unsalted butter. Unroll dough and separate into strips. Cut strips in half crosswise. Place 1 inch apart in the hot waffle iron and close lid. Cook until the steaming stops and waffle sticks are golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes.

If using crescent dough, separate into triangles, then cut triangles lengthwise in half. Follow directions above, except cook for 3-4 minutes until steaming stops.

If using cornbread stick dough, cook as for breadsticks. Serve with maple syrup, applesauce, powdered sugar, and jam. Makes 16
