Eggs Lorraine

This simple five ingredient egg and sausage entree recipe is perfect for a holiday brunch. If you don't mind using six ingredients, a couple of tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top adds another layer of flavor.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 8 link sausages, completely cooked and drained
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spread butter in 8" glass baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cheese over butter. Break eggs carefully onto cheese. Pierce yolks with a fork, but don't stir the eggs; leave them separate. Place cooked and drained sausages on eggs and pour cream over all. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 22-27 minutes, until eggs are set and casserole is bubbly. Cut into squares to serve.
