By Linda Larsen, About.com

You can make this crisp snack mix a day or two ahead of time; store it in an airtight container to keep it crisp.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 3 hours, 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup bagel chips, broken if large
  • 2 cups square rice cereal
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 2 cups round oat cereal
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 1/8 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Preparation:

In 4 quart crockpot, combine pretzels, bagel chips, cereals, pecans, and cashews and toss gently to mix. In small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add remaining ingredients and stir to mix. Drizzle butter mixture over ingredients in crockpot and toss to coat all ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours until glazed, stirring two or three times during cooking. Remove lid from crockpot and cook 1/2 hour longer. Then place mix on several layers of paper towels to drain and cool. Store in airtight container. 8-10 servings
