Buttered Baby Carrots

Baby carrots are not really 'baby' carrots, but are carrots that have been trimmed down to a smaller size. They are super easy to prepare because you don't have to trim or peel them.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 6 minutes

Total Time: 11 minutes

Yield: 4 servings


  • 1 package baby carrots
  • water to cover
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • salt and pepper to taste


Place carrots in saucepan and add water to cover by 1/2". Bring to a boil over high heat. Lower heat to medium and simmer carrots for 3-6 minutes until tender when pierced with a fork. Remove from heat, drain carrots, turn heat off. Return carrots to saucepan and add butter. Place on burner with heat off. Let butter melt; stir gently to coat carrots. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and serve.

This recipe was very good, and I loved that it was so much quicker than roasting the carrots in the oven. I will definitely make again when I need my carrots fast!
