For some reason, Father's Day just doesn't get the same respect and attention as Mother's Day. Make things different this year! Try serving Dad a one dish recipe cooked on the grill or meats and side dishes cooked on the grill. With these easy recipes and a little advance planning, you can have a delicious, hearty dinner ready in minutes.

French restaurants offer food en papillote, or wrapped in a package, usually of parchment paper, that is baked in a hot oven until puffed and brown. This special presentation keeps the aroma and flavor of the food sealed until just before eating. On the grill, use heavy duty foil for 'presentation packets'. On his special day, Dad will enjoy cutting the packages to release the wonderful smell and sizzle.

For best results, read all about How to Make Presentation Packets and How to Grill.

Dad's Favorite Desserts

If you are planning on serving your dad steak, I feel that a good steak should be cooked all by itself to get the wonderful browning and carmelization that only direct heat can provide. So if you have a hankering for beef, cook vegetables in the packets or on skewers and just plop those steaks directly on the grill.

Add a fresh green salad or some chilled fresh fruit and a great dessert, and you have a super easy meal with almost no cleanup that Dad will really love. Have a great Father's Day and enjoy this easy cookout.
